PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor manufacturing method which can properly execute positioning in the peripheral direction between a stator core and a case, and can prevent a large force from being applied to a positioning pin. SOLUTION: In the motor manufacturing method, a stator core 4 is shrink-fitted in the cylindrical part 5a of a case 5, while positioning is executing in the peripheral direction. A long hole 5d is made in the case 5, and a positioning pin is formed in a jig. The long hole 5d and the positioning pin are formed so that the relative movement in the peripheral direction is restricted, with the positioning pin being inserted into the long hole 5d. Then, in the "shrink-fitting process", the stator core 4, positioned peripherally relative to the jig, is shrink-fitted in the case 5; while the positioning pin is inserted into the long hole 5d, to execute positioning in the peripheral direction of the case relative to the jig.
