<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output driver IC which can be miniaturized by reducing the frame memory capacity, even if the image data amount, transferred from an image supply side IC, is increased. <P>SOLUTION: The image output driver IC comprises an image encoder 10 which encodes a non-compressed image data transferred via a data bus 6 from the image supply side IC1; a compressed image data memory 20, which stores the compressed image data from the image encoder 10; an image decoder 30 which decodes the compressed image data from the compressed image data memory 20; and a driver part 40, which drives to output the image based on the image data decoded by the image decoder 30.
