<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information retrieval device or the like capable of supporting keyword input of a user in retrieval, and performing the retrieval inside a category fit for taste of the individual user. <P>SOLUTION: When continuous retrieval using a weather character CR1 and a traffic character CR2 is performed a prescribed frequency or above, the characters are set as parent characters, and a going-out character CR4 is created according to a combination thereof. Category information of going-out character data 91 is set with category information of weather character data 70a and category information of traffic character data 70b together.
