<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of efficiently executing the setting and change of a data output format through a communication part in the apparatus having a plurality of media. <P>SOLUTION: In the apparatus having a plurality of recording media such as a DVD and a flash memory and capable of outputting data stored in the recording media, a function selecting picture capable of executing both of the selection of a recording medium and the selection of a function (PC mode or PictBridge) to be executed is displayed as a setting picture for setting a data output format or the like.
