PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CATV system which can transmit a good-quality satellite broadcast signal to a plurality of subscriber side terminal devices from a head end, and which can transmit a good-quality satellite broadcast signal from the head end even when concentrated heavy rain occurs in the first antenna spot and C/N of the satellite broadcast signal deteriorates due to a rain attenuation. SOLUTION: In the CATV system, a signal received by the first antenna is accepted by a head end, the broadcast signal is transmitted to a plurality of terminal devices through a transmission line, and the second antenna receiving the same signal is provided to a spot where a climate condition is different from that of the spot of the first antenna. The accepting side of the head end has a switching means switching a reception signal from the first antenna with a reception signal from the second antenna to be outputted to the head end, the reception signal from the first antenna is monitored, the reception signal from the first antenna is switched when the state of the reception signal becomes lower than a reference value, and the reception signal from the second antenna the same as the reception signal from the first antenna is outputted to the head end.
