PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of improving read productivity for a bound original such as a book, a magazine or a document. SOLUTION: A sheet type scanner unit 270 is provided with a winding part 272 where a sheet scanner 271 is wound so as to be pulled out. The sheet scanner 271 has a sheet-like base material 59. On the respective surfaces of the base material 59, a light emitting layer 60 which spontaneously emits light is formed respectively.
