PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe skin ageing-preventing composition which exhibits the same actions on the proliferation and differentiation of epidermal cells as those of retinoic acid and retinoic acid derivatives and is useful for preventing and improving the ageing of the skins. SOLUTION: This external composition for skins, for preventing the ageing of the skins, containing an extract of Cyanophyceae, especially Aphanizomenon, further especially Aphanizomenon flos-aquae.
