A wire/wireless-interworking CID provisioning apparatus and a method thereof are provided to offer CID contents, such as nicknames, firm names, etc., as a wire/wireless-integrated service and to enable a SOHO(Small Office Home Office) or a small-scale company to provide a differentiated CID service for public relations. A wire/wireless-interworking CID provisioning apparatus, which provides CIDs through interworking with a wireless lettering server(204), comprises a wire subscriber database(108), a CID contents server(105), a toll/tandem exchange(103), and a local exchange(102). The wire subscriber database(108) stores the CIDs of wire subscribers. The CID contents server(105) obtains the CID of a wire subscriber from the wire subscriber database(108), and provides the CID of a wireless subscriber through interworking with the wireless lettering server(204). The toll/tandem exchange(103), if a call is attempted to a wire subscriber from a wireless subscriber's terminal, requests CID of the wireless terminal from the CID contents server(105). The local exchange(102), if a caller number is inputted from the toll/tandem exchange(103), receives the CID from the CID contents server(105) and transmits it to the wire subscriber's terminal. |
