A braking device for cutting glass substrate in manufacture of flat panel display is provided to reduce fatigue of the glass substrate and to minimize generation of glass chips while transporting the glass substrate with scribed lines by adapting an ultrasonic crack propagation unit equipped with an ultrasonic generator. The braking device includes: a transporting unit(110) for glass substrate(10) having scribed lines with a constant depth, which has multiple rollers(120) arranged in series as spaced from one another and a driving part to rotate the rollers; a crack propagation unit(140) for propagating the crack and cutting the substrate by applying impact to the scribed lines, which has a vessel with opened top to contain liquid and is arranged below the rollers, and an ultrasonic generator(170) for generating cavitation bubbles by ultrasonic emission to give impact caused by explosion of the bubbles to the scribed lines of the substrate.
