<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device whose miniaturization and weight reduction are easy, a viewing angle is wide, display quality is high, and reliability is high as well, and a light emitting device adequate for use as a light source for such image display device or various other applications. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device is constituted by combining materials having a wavelength conversion function, dimming mechanisms for adjusting the intensity of transmitted light, and semiconductor light emitting elements in various forms. Phosphors etc. are used for wavelength conversion. Liquid crystals and the like can be used as a dimming function. Also, the light emitting device which has small size, has a plurality of wavelengths and has high luminance is provided by combining the semiconductor light emitting elements and the wavelength conversion materials, such as the phosphors, in various forms. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
