<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging bag which is easily grabbed with a hand and is easily unsealed, and has resistance against high-temperature sterilization. <P>SOLUTION: The packaging bag is made of a laminated material having at least a base material layer and a sealant layer. A bag body 2 has a bottom seal 3 on one side, side seals 4 and 5 on both lateral sides, and an opening 6 on the side opposite to the bottom seal 3. A tearing start portion 9 is formed on the peripheral edge at the opening side of one side seal of the bag, the tearing start portion 9 being formed to be torn in parallel with the bottom seal portion 3. Embossed patterns 7 and 8 are formed at upper and lower spots close to the tearing start portion 9 across a given interval. The embossed patterns 7 and 8 have a plurality of irregularities for grabbing the bag with a hand, and a plurality of straight slit lines 10a to 10d of a given length that traverse the embossed patterns 7 and 8 in parallel with the side seal.
