<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air disinfection device capable of specifying a position of failure, and a control method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A circulation pump 13 is operated while a water tray float switch 43 detects the presence of water. If it is detected that water is present in an electrolytic bath 31 from the value of the electric current running between electrodes 32 and 33 when an electrolytic bath float switch 42 detects the presence of water, the abnormality of the circulation pump 13 is specified (steps Sa1-Sa7).
