<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter that enables kick start in a motorcycle with FI specifications. <P>SOLUTION: The power converter is provided with diodes D11, D12, D13 rectifying multiphase AC power from a power generator and supplying it to a first load (a FI system), thyristor switches S4, S5 rectifying a portion of phases in the multiphase AC power and supplying it to a second load (battery), a switch control circuit 122 for carrying a current to the thyristor switches S4, S5 on the conditions that the rotational speed reach a predetermined value, and a voltage control circuit 121 for controlling and short-circuiting the output from the power generator so as to maintain a constant output voltage. The second load is not supplied with power during cranking by a kick pedal. All the phases in the multiphase AC power are supplied to the first load. Thus, the first load is supplied effectively with power, without being affected due to the second load, and the kick start can be implemented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
