PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically perform the initial setting of a disk having a plurality of kinds of formats using a single setting file when the disk of a plurality of kind of formats having language functions is handled. SOLUTION: The device has a disk drive part reading video information including voice streams of a plurality of languages, title streams, and menu information and its management information, a reproduction stream setting information managing part setting the stream of the used language out of video information, a reproduction stream setting information managing table storing setting information set by the reproduction stream setting information managing part, and a separating part extracting the stream of the set language by the control of the reproduction stream setting information managing part. The reproduction stream setting information managing part has a means to perform the reproduction setting of a disk of a plurality of kind of formats using the setting information recorded in the reproduction stream setting information managing table.
