PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a battery residual capacity accurately by using a voltage detection method. SOLUTION: This battery residual capacity detection device integrated into an electronic device including at least one DC motor and a battery for supplying a power source to at least one DC motor is equipped with a detection means for detecting the battery residual capacity by detecting a terminal voltage of the battery, and a discrimination means for discriminating whether the battery residual capacity detected by the detection means is below a threshold determined beforehand or not. In the device, when detecting the battery residual capacity by the detection means, detection is executed during a period when a constant current is made to flow from the battery, in the state where a driving force of at least one DC motor is mechanically fixed.
