PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oily ink for ballpoint pens, which uses both a cellulose derivative and a specific lubricant, is little adhered to the outside of a ball holder, scarcely drips, and gives more light and smooth writing touches than those of conventional inks. SOLUTION: This oily ink for the ballpoint pens comprises at least one or more compounds selected from N-acylamino acids, N-acylmethyltaurine compounds, and N-acylmethylalanine compounds, one or more compounds selected from ethylcellulose, hydroxyethylcellulose, hydroxyethylalkylcellulose, hydroxypropylalkylcellulose and their acetate compounds and phthalate compounds, a solvent, and a colorant.
