PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular automatic transmission achieving sub assembly independently of a vehicle type, FF, FR, or whatever, thus actualizing a compact main line and suppressing the risk of stopping the main line. SOLUTION: A first planetary gear device 22 and a first friction engaging element 50 are supported in the direction of the axial center by an oil pump housing 42. Thus, the automatic transmission 16 using the oil pump housing 42 on which an oil pump 94 is assembled achieves the sub assembly. Namely, it achieves the sub assembly with a single type oil pump 94 independently of an automatic transmission different in size such as axial length, FF, FR, or whatever. The sub assembly allows the assembly of the oil pump 94, the first planetary gear device 22 and the first friction engaging element 50 on the oil pump housing 42 in a sub line, actualizes the compact main line, and suppresses the risk of stopping the main line.
