Curable pigmented polyesterurethane forming compositions comprise an acrylic resin, vinyl acrylic resin or nitrocellulose, a pigment, a solvent, a polyester polyol of M.W. 500 to 6000, an organic polyisocyanate having all its isocyanate groups attached to non-benzenoid carbon atoms and a primary diamine having all its amine groups attached to non-benzenoid carbon atoms. A lacquer comprising the acrylic resin, vinyl acrylic resin or nitrocellulose, pigment and solvent may suitably be formed and then mixed with one of the polyurethane forming components or with the polyurethane reaction mixture per se. The polyester and polyisocyanate are suitably present as a prepolymer reaction product. Numerous ingredients of the compositions are listed. Exemplified polyester-urethanes are those prepared from (1) polyethylene-polypropylene adipate and methylene bis - (4 - cyclohexyl isocyanate) and cured with 1,4 - cyclohexane bis - (methylamine), (2) polytetramethylene adipate of M.W. 1000 and 2000 and 4,41-methylene bis-(cyclohexyl isocyanate) and cured with 4,41-methylene bis-(cyclohexylamine) or m-xylylene diamine and (3) polytetramethylene adipate and 4,41-methylene bis-(cyclohexylisocyanate) and cured with 1,4-cyclohexane bis-(methylamine). |
