PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical glass which can suppress the generation of platinum granules without lowering clarification effect even when a preparation of glass raw materials containing an Sb component as a clarification agent is melted with melting equipment using refractory including platinum; and to provide a method for producing the same.
