METHOD FOR PREPARING VOGLIBOSE

A method for preparing voglibose is provided to mass-produce voglibose in an environment-friendly and economical manner by using water as a reaction solvent when valiolamine and 1,3-dihydroxyacetone are subjected to reduction amination using sodium cyanoborohydride as a reducing agent. The method for preparing voglibose(I) consists of subjecting valiolamine(II) and 1,3-dihydroxyacetone(III) to reduction amination using sodium cyanoborohydride as a reducing agent, wherein water is used as a reaction solvent. The reduction amination is carried out at 20-100°C. The sodium cyanoborohydride as a reducing agent is used in an amount of 3-6 equivalents based on valiolamine.
