The network has at least two star point nodes (S1,S2) and several network nodes (NK1,NK2) connected to the star point network nodes via logical links (LV). Logical connections are implemented using fixed, connecting paths, each contg. at least one connecting section path. Each logical connection is realised using a working connection path (WP) via one star point node and a geographically different replacement path (PP) via the other star point node. Optical switching arrangements (DM1,DM2) for switching the logical connections over the working and replacement paths are provided between the network nodes in the star point nodes. |
