In a container for a semi-conductor junction element comprising two rigid copper plate electrodes 2, 3, between which the element 1 is held in electrical contact by pressure and two circular ring frames 5, 7, each attached to one of these electrodes by a connecting ring 4, 4<SP>1</SP>, of ferronickel alloy, the two circular ring frames 5, 7, each have a tubular extension 6, 8 which is disposed coaxially with the element and electrodes, one of the extensions 6 being of a lesser diameter than the other 8 so that it can be inserted within it to assemble the container in correct alignment. The tubular extensions may be of metal or of metal-coated ceramic in which case they are soldered or welded together, or of ceramic when they are sealed together by a plastics sealing ring (9), Fig. 2 (not shown). Both circular ring frames may be of ceramic or one may be ceramic and the other metal, Fig. 3 (not shown). The ends of the tubular extensions may have shoulders to facilitate connection. |
