<p>Solid solution piezo-electric ceramics.. N6A. Compositions containing Me (M 1/2Ti1/2) O3 (I), Me (Mn1/2Zr1/2)O3 (II), PbTiO3 (III), and PbZ2O3 (IV), where Me is B1, La, Ce, Nd or Sm, and in which up to 25 at % of Pb is optionally replaced by Ba, Sr and/or Ca, give improved electro-mechanical coupling factors and mechanical Q. The solid solution is preferably described by It, IIu, IIIv, IVw, where t+u+v+w=1.00 and other relationships are defined by alpha=t/(t+v)=u/(u+w) and beta=t/(t+u)=v/(v+w), alpha and beta define points in the composition diagrams. An example composition with Me=Bi, alpha=0.05, beta=0.70 gave k=12%, Qm=1560.</p> |
