An organic light emitting diode display device and a fabrication method thereof are provided to prevent driving failure caused by not applying an ELVss signal by reducing open-circuit of a cathode electrode of the organic light emitting diode crossing the trench region. A substrate comprises a display region, an COD(Cathode On Driver) region and a trench region between the display region and the COD region. A planarization layer(130) is provided in the display region and the COD region. A pixel defining layer(150) is provided on the planarization layer in the display region and the COD region. A step reduction layer(160) is provided in the trench region. A first pixel electrode is provided on an emission region between pixel defining layers in the display region. An emitting layer is provided on the first pixel electrode. A second pixel electrode is provided on the emitting layer and the pixel defining layer in the display region, and is extended to the COD region via the trench region. The step reduction layer is made of the same material as the pixel defining layer, and the side wall of the pixel defining layer forming the trench region is stepped. |
