A method for controlling a washing operation of a washing machine is provided to reduce washing water used in the washing operation even when the washing water is supplied in several steps. A method for controlling a washing operation of a washing machine includes the steps of: detecting the amount of clothes(S20); supplying washing water to a set level according to the amount of clothes(S30); injecting detergent solution to the laundry articles and rotating a washing tub at a rotational speed below for a first period of time(S40), wherein laundry articles are not stuck to the inner surface of the washing tub at the rotational speed; supplying the heated steam into the washing tub for a second period of time(S50); additionally supplying the washing water; and injecting the detergent solution to the laundry articles for a third period of time and rotating the washing tub at a rotational speed below, wherein the laundry articles cannot are stuck to the inner surface of the washing tub and can be separated from the inner surface of the washing tub at the rotational speed. |
