An apparatus and a method for driving a PDP(Plasma Display Panel) are provided to reduce EMI(Electro Magnetic Interference) radiation amounts by adjusting the falling slope of a voltage waveform supplied to a Y electrode. A display panel includes discharge cells formed by X, Y, and address electrodes. A frame is composed of plural sub-fields, and each of the sub-fields is composed of reset, address, and sustain periods. The reset period(PR) includes first and second reset periods(PR1,PR2). A rising ramp pulse waveform, which rises from a first level(Vsch) to a second level(Vsch+Vset) with a constant slope, is applied to the Y electrode(Y1) during the first reset period. A falling ramp pulse waveform, which falls from a third level(Vs) to a fourth level(Vnf) with a constant slope, is applied to the Y electrode(Y1) during the second reset period. The first reset period includes a falling period, such that a falling voltage, which falls from the second level to a third level, is supplied to the Y electrode during the falling period.
