<p>A power control device of a mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to control forward closed loop external power even in a pause period by using a stand-alone DCCH(Dedicated Control CHannel), thereby controlling DPCH(Dedicated Physical CHannel) power even though the pause period continues for a long time. Power of a DPDCH(Dedicated Physical Data CHannel) is measured during a particular frame, and a pause period is decided on according to the measured results(410). During the pause period, a demodulation error rate of a DPCH pilot is measured(420,430). A target receiving threshold reference value is controlled according to the measured demodulation error rate to control transmission power(440,450,460).</p> |
