FOMITOPSIS PINICOLA EXTRACT HAVING INHIBITORY EFFECT OF PANCREATIC CELL DAMAGE AND THE USE THEREOF

Provided is a composition comprising an extract of Fomitopsis pinicola fruiting body or Fomitopsis pinicola cultural mycelium which shows therapeutic or inhibitory effect on damage of pancreatic cell, so as to be widely used for developing functional foods for treating, preventing or improving the damage of the pancreatic cell due to infection or autoimmune reaction and preventing or treating a type I diabetes caused by the pancreatic cell damage. The composition for treating and preventing a type I diabetes caused by damage of pancreatic cell comprises an extract of Fomitopsis pinicola fruiting body or an extract of Fomitopsis pinicola cultural mycelium. The extract of Fomitopsis pinicola fruiting body is a hot-water extract or an alkali-extract. The extract of Fomitopsis pinicola cultural mycelium is prepared by the method comprising the steps of: (a) subculturing and seed-culturing cultural mycelium seeds of the Fomitopsis pinicola; (b) inoculating the seeds into a sterilized and cooled potato culture medium and then culturing it; (c) neutralizing the cultured solution obtained from the step(b) and then precipitating it into ethanol; and (d) dialyzing the precipitate. The composition for treating or preventing a type I diabetes caused by damage of pancreatic cell comprises a beta-1,3-glucano-beta-1,6-heterogalactomannan-protein complex.
