An apparatus for controlling the position of a level detecting sensor and a controlling method thereof are provided to adjust exactly the position of the level detecting sensor by using a sensing position measuring plate capable of moving freely. An apparatus for controlling the position of a level detecting sensor includes a body, a rail, two support parts and a sensing position measuring plate. The body(100) has an upper surface formed like a rectangle type structure. The rail(200) is formed at both sides of the upper surface of the body, respectively. The two support parts(300) are connected to the rail. The two support parts move along the rail. The sensing position measuring plate(400) is connected to a portion between the two support parts. The sensing position measuring plate moves up and down between the two support parts.
