A preparation as a wettable powder for protecting sugar beet fields against weeds contains a herbicidally active compound, a wetting agent, a sulphonated dispersion agent and kaolin as a carrier. It contains triflusulphurone-methyl as herbicidally active compound, sodium salt of benzenesulfonic acid as a wetting agent, sodium salt of N,N'-methylenebis(naphthalensulfonic acid) as the sulphonated dispersion agent. It is supplemented with an emulsifying agent, in particular a 4-nonylphenol and ethyleneoxide condensate and silica gel as the carrier.
