METHOD FOR DESTRUCTION OF ROCKS

FIELD: blast practice, applicable at mining of metalliferrous and nonmetalliferrous materials on open pits. ^ SUBSTANCE: at an in-line blasting of deep-hole charges at lass blast on open pits the effects of destruction are reinforced by selection of the direction of the destruction wave-front transversely to the direction of the rocks of the block to be broken. Of several systems of jointing are available in the rocks of the block to be broken, it is offered to direct the destruction wave-front at an optimal angle to each system. The optimal angle is calculated from the dependence taking into account the quantity of joints per unit of length in the specific system. ^ EFFECT: the practical use of the offered method at mass blasts on the pits of the "Granit-Kuznechnoye" public reduce the consumption of explosives by 0.2 to 0.3 per cent.
