A device and a method for printing a secret document in an MFP are provided to easily restore the secret document by converting a predetermined character of the secret document and printing position information of the converted character. A driver(120) converts a normal document into the secret document by replacing at least one predetermined character included in the normal document with the predetermined converted character, converting the position information of the converted character into a barcode, and printing the barcode in the secret document. The driver restores and outputs the predetermined character from the converted character of which a position is checked by using the barcode included in the secret document according to a request for recovering the secret document. A storing part(140) stores at least one converted character corresponding to at least one predetermined character.
