A backlight unit and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having the same are provided to entirely transmit the light emitted from a light source to a light guide panel, thereby improving the efficiency of light. A light emitting diode generates the light beam by means of power supplied from the outside and is mounted to an FPCB(Flexible Printed Circuit Board)(134). A light guide panel(112) includes a seating surface with a step shape for seating the FPCB. The mounting surface of the lamp mounted on the FPCB is arranged in parallel to the front surface of the light guide panel. An adhesion layer is formed on the seating surface. The width and height of the step is formed similarly in comparison with those of the adhesion layer. The adhesion layer is formed by a prominence and depression shape having the embossed and depressed engraving shapes. |
