A method and an apparatus for searching/obtaining handover information by using a DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) are provided to quickly and effectively search and obtain handover information. An information server position information receiving unit(110) receives position information in a network for access an IS(Information Server) that provides handover information from a DHCP server. An information server approaching unit(120) approaches the IS by using the position information of the IS. A handover information receiving unit(130) receives the handover information from the IS.
