An opening and closing method of a digital door lock and a device thereof are provided to prevent a stranger from opening and closing a door by driving an auxiliary power source through authentication of a first auxiliary key if a main power source of the digital door lock is discharged and authenticating a secondary password with the driven auxiliary power source. In a digital door lock(100), a main power source(110) supplies driving power to the digital door lock. An auxiliary power source(150) temporally supplies the driving power to the digital door lock. A key input unit(160) has a key insertion unit(162) and connects a power supply line through which the auxiliary power source supplies the driving power and a power applying line through which the digital door lock receives the driving power, by operating a relay of normal open contact point type installed between the power supply line and the power applying line if the key inserted into the key insertion unit is an authenticated key. A control unit(140) actuates a locking device of the door lock through the driving power supplied from the auxiliary power source if the key input unit connects the power supply line and the power applying line, when the main power source is discharged. Then, the control unit receives a password from the user and releases the locking device if the input password matches to a pre-set authentication number.
