The holder (100) has a plate (114) axially movable in direction of introduction of an earpiece (200) in a receptacle, between inserted and released positions. The earpiece is placed in the receptacle and arms (116) of the plate exert a mechanical force on the earpiece to maintain the earpiece in the position and press contact strips (122) against recharging contacts (210) of the earpiece, when the plate is in inserted position. The earpiece is partially withdrawn from the receptacle and the arms free the earpiece from the mechanical force when the plate is in released position.
