<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission shift device capable of simplifying the operability and enhancing the driving safety in the transmission shift device. <P>SOLUTION: A shift device 1 of an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle has a select lever to be shiftable at an automatic shift gate 2 and shiftable to a one-touch shift gate 3 via a transverse gate 4 for the change in the automatic driving state 5. The select lever has a stable driving position 8 at the one-touch shift gate, and is automatically returned to the stable position from all unstable positions of three gates 2, 3, 4. In order to enhance the operational comfort and the driving stability, a transmission control unit 11 selects the automatic driving state 5, and changes the driving state into the automatic driving state for the first time when the select lever occupies the stable driving position 8 again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
