PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely determine the misfire of an internal combustion engine connected to a downstream side stage with a twist element such as a damper interposed therebetween.
SOLUTION: When the operating state composed of the rotational speed Ne and the torque Te of an engine is brought into a resonance area on the downstream side stage including the damper connected to the crankshaft of the engine, it is determined whether the frequency Tmg of the variation of the rotational speed Nml of a motor MG1 approximately matches the frequency Teg of the misfire of one cylinder or not (S330). When these frequencies match with each other, the cylinder misfired is specified based on the phase of the variation of the rotational speed Nml of the motor MG1 against the crank angle CA (S340). Consequently, even when the operating state is brought into the resonance area, the misfire can be surely and accurately determined.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
