<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read a two-dimensional code and reliably restore the original data. <P>SOLUTION: A detection part 184 images a two-dimensional code, such as a dot code 170, including at least a data area in which data is arranged two-dimensionally, a plurality of markers which are arranged in a predetermined positional relationship to the data area and interspaced two-dimensionally for the detection of the position of the two-dimensional code, and a fixed pattern which is arranged among the plurality of markers to provide sample points where the data in the data area is sampled. A marker detection part 216 detects the markers from an image frame including the two-dimensional code. A block address detection/error determination/accurate center detection part 300 detects the fixed pattern according to the detected markers.
