<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate voice input character generation and keyboard operation. <P>SOLUTION: For definition processing, i.e. arithmetic processing by voice phones, random access memories are connected in parallel and samples obtained by digitizing a voice by an analog-to-digital converter are input to the random access memories in sequence through a switch element. The definition processing, i.e. arithmetic processing is performed, a comparison with one pattern of a phone is made to perform voice character generation, and setting of software and a procedure for keyboard operation input are instructed from a storage element and carried out.
