<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data compression apparatus and a data compression program for carrying out new and preferable compression processing adaptable to compression of CT data representing a color image. <P>SOLUTION: The data compression apparatus includes: a first differential generation section for generating first differential data comprised of serial numerical values representing a differential of adjacent numerical values regarding numerical values constituting color plate data for the color plate data included in data to be compressed; a second differential generation section for generating second differential data comprised of serial numerical values representing a differential between the first differential data of color plate data corresponding to color elements of predetermined kinds and the first differential data of a color element other than the color elements of the predetermined kinds; an offset section for offsetting the numerical values of the differential data just for a predetermined value; a division section for dividing the numerical values of data into high-order data comprised of serial high-order bit parts and low-order data comprised of serial low-order bit parts; a high-order data compression section for applying reversible compression processing to the high-order data; and a low-order data compression section for applying reversible compression processing to the low-order data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
