<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission using a cover member for closing an opening portion of a transmission case while avoiding the interference of the cover member with a member arranged in an engine room without reducing the internal capacity of the transmission case. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic transmission comprises the transmission case 121 including a transmission mechanism and having the opening portion at the end on the counter engine side, and the cover member 130 joined to the transmission case 121 via mutual joint faces 121', 130' for closing the opening portion of the transmission case 121, the cover member 130 having a predetermined portion opposed to the member 400. The joint faces 121', 130' of the transmission case 121 and the cover member 130 are inclined to a plane (a) perpendicular to the axial direction so that the predetermined portion (a size L<SB>2</SB>) of the cover member 130 on the peripheral face of the transmission case 121 is set back from a portion (a size L<SB>1</SB>) on the opposite side to the engine side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
