PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproduction apparatus having monitor functions. SOLUTION: The recording/reproduction apparatus having monitor functions includes a first signal input terminal to receive video signals from a photographing apparatus, a second signal input terminal to receive television signals from a television signal source, a control circuit which is connected to the first and the second signal input terminals, processes video signals and/or television signals, executes comparison procedures for video signals and converts a second video signal into write data if a first and the second video signals which are sequentially received through the first signal input terminal have a difference that exceeds a threshold, and a storage device connected to the control circuit to store the write data.
