PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the output of light beam emitted from a light source and to scan a scanning area with the light beam. SOLUTION: Of the two lens faces possessed by a scanning lens system 66, the most proximate lens face RS1 closest to a deflector 65 has a power. Also, while movable members is kept stationary, the main beam (first main beam) PR of the light beam deflected by a deflection mirror face 651 and the optical axis OA of the scanning lens system 66 are parallel with and separated from each other in the main scanning cross section. As a result, the angle of incidence, of the light beam deflected by the deflection mirror face 651 of the stationary state, on the most proximate lens face RS1 becomes other than zero. Hence, a ghost light generated on the most proximate lens face RS1 is surely prevented from returning to the laser light source 62, thereby stabilizing the output of the light beam emitted from the laser light source 62.
