PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing case for a spacer capable of preventing foreign substances from adhering to and scratches from appearing on the surface of the spacer, especially on the surface of the spacer which is not in contact with any of a front plate, a back plate, and a support frame. SOLUTION: This spacer for the packing case carries a rectangular parallelepiped-shaped spacer to keep a fixed space between two substrates by forcing the spacer into contact with the front plate, the back plate, and the support frame which compose a field emission type display. The packing case has a plurality of holding parts to hold a plurality of the spacers, and hold them so that the contact area of the packing case and the spacers becomes not more than 50% of the entire surface area of the spacers.
