PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems such that there is a defect that on cleaning a recording medium over-coated with a protective layer, by using a thermally reversible color-developing composition, the protective layer is invaded by using an oily solvent-based detergent so as to make the recording medium no longer usable, and also in the case of using an aqueous detergent blended with a surfactant, there is also a defect that sometimes the detergent invades from a slight crack to discolor the layer as cracked state so as to shorten the life of the recording medium markedly. SOLUTION: This detergent for the recording medium is provided by using a thermally reversible color developing composition consisting only of a metal ion sealant, an antiseptic agent, propylene glycol and water.
