The delivery pump (1) has a housing part (3) in which delivery elements (9, 10) are mounted. Fuel is delivered by the delivery elements from a suction region (6) to a pressure region (8). The housing part is formed from a metallic base material (20) in which a ceramic additive material (21) is embedded. The base material can also be treated in a pressure die-casting process.
