The bearing comprises an outer bearing ring (2) and inner bearing ring (3) with roller balls (4) inbetween to roll in grooved tracks (10, 11). At least one of the axial flanges (12, 13, 14, 15) defining the grooved tracks in the rings has a radially reduced height so that the radial bearing (1) can be fitted in an axial assembly process with an increased number of balls through the increased spacing (aL2) between this flange and the radially opposite flange. The distance from one flange of the track in the outer bearing ring to the radially opposite non height reduced flange of the track of the inner bearing ring is preferably about 63% of the diameter of the basic shape of the balls.
