The arrangement has an input (107), an output for connection to a measuring bus (103) e.g. HART(RTM: Not defined) bus, and a short-circuit current limiting unit. The arrangement is designed to transmit a useful signal from the input to the output along a useful signal path. The useful signal is a parametric signal for a field device. The input and the output are galvanically separated from each other by direct current isolation. The current limiting unit is arranged outside of the useful signal path. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a circuit arrangement.
