A laundry apparatus and a method for controlling the same are provided to increase the convenience for a user by displaying information on the course performed by the laundry apparatus with a letter message, a percentage, a bar level, and a left time. A laundry apparatus includes a control panel(200). A display section(240) displaying operation information of the laundry apparatus is provided in the control panel. At least one information section is provided in the display section. The information section outputs the percentage of completion of a washing course. The display section includes at least one information section selected from a first process information section, a second process information section, a message output section, and a remaining time information section. A level display section is provided in the display section. The completion percentage of the washing course is displayed with a bar level. |
